S'Abeurador
This is a construction dating back to around 1820, which brought about the closure of the well in the Plaça Major. It is made up of some basins, under some small porticos, up against a municipal building. In the middle of the small square there is a round water trough. The water, from a municipal well, used to be taken out by a waterwheel. People used to take their animals to drink there.

Does anybody know if it will be restored soon? It's really worth doing it, since the people from the village look forward to having it again as it was before.
ResponEliminaIn my opinion this is a excellent blog because I think that Santanyí is the best town of the world. I really like the places that you are described in the blog, specially s'Abeurador. S'abeurador is a trough that was cread a lot time ago, but the last month a tourists crashed his car in the opossite part where was taked the photograph and they shatted a piece of this constructions and is a pity that the town hall don't want to repair it.
